Jagran Correspondent | South Delhi: In the latest developments in the Meena murder case, the police said that the accused wanted to commit suicide after killing his house help in Delhi's Mount Kailash. The accused, identified as Dr Manish Gupta, however, could not commit suicide, as he was shocked after killing the maid.

During the interrogation, he repeatedly stated he wanted to hang himself. Gupta was suffering from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) for a long time and was undergoing treatment for the same. Police officers are keeping a close watch on him due to his mental condition. His behavior and statements during interrogation are also being analyzed.

After questioning the accused, it was revealed that the deceased, Meena, had been working at the accused's home for approximately 15 years. For the past two to three years, the accused had been trying to remove Meena from her job as a domestic help. However, his wife opposed this and supported Meena.

How Was The Crime Unfolded?

Meena Halder, a resident of Bangaon, Kolkata, lived in Prakash Mohalla, Garhi, South Delhi, with her son, Rabin Halder; daughter, Papiha; and daughter-in-law, Suparna Halder. Her husband, Uttam Halder, lives in the village and works as a farmer.

She worked as domestic help at house number A-69 and the house behind it in Mount Kailash. Her daughter-in-law, Suparna, also worked in the same area. Suparna says that when she arrived at work around 11 a.m., she couldn't believe it when she heard from the people around about her mother-in-law, Meena. When she arrived, the police allowed her to go upstairs. When she went to the roof, she saw her mother-in-law, Meena, lying in a pool of blood. Her body was covered in wounds. There was blood everywhere. Looking at the scene, she fainted. The police brought her downstairs. An investigation was then initiated.
