Gujarat News: An eight-year-old girl studying in Class 3 died in her school in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on Friday, in what is suspected to be a case of cardiac arrest, according to officials, as reported by PTI.
The girl, Gargi Ranpara, collapsed in the morning at Zebar School for Children in the Thaltej neighbourhood. To determine the precise cause of her death, the police have opened an investigation.
“The girl fell unconscious soon after she sat on a chair in the lobby while going towards her classroom in the morning,” PTI quoted the principal of the school, Sharmishtha Sinha, as saying.
A similar incident occurred earlier this week when an eight-year-old student from Chamarajanagar, 160 kilometres from Bengaluru, fainted and died of cardiac arrest.
Gargi Ranpara can be seen entering the lobby and making her way to her classroom in the CCTV footage that the school administration has provided. However, she felt uneasy and sat on a chair in the lobby on her way. Later, when she collapses in front of the professors and other kids, she is seen falling out of the chair.

"Gargi was normal when she arrived at the school in the morning. When she was going towards her classroom on the first floor, she sat on a chair in the corridor but suddenly fell unconscious. Since she was experiencing difficulty breathing, our teachers gave her CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and called an ambulance," Sharmishtha Sinha said.
The girl was then driven to a nearby private hospital in their vehicle.
