Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested three terrorists linked to ISIS from Ahmedabad on Sunday near the Adalaj Toll Plaza. The ATS recovered two Glock pistols, one Beretta pistol, 30 live cartridges, and four litres of castor oil.

The three accused were identified as Dr Ahmed Mohiuddin, Azad Suleman Sheikh, and Mohd Suhel Salim Khan. All three were apprehended while supplying weapons and were reportedly planning to carry out terrorist attacks in various parts of the country.

Gujarat ATS arrested Syed Ahmed Mohiuddin, a 36-year-old from Hyderabad, who had been under surveillance for nearly a year. He, an MBBS graduate from China, was planning a major terrorist attack and was in contact with foreigners and a Telegram ID linked to ISKP. Mohiuddin had begun preparing Ricin and had come to Ahmedabad to collect a weapon delivery from Kalol.

Speaking to ANI, Gujarat ATS DIG Sunil Joshi said, “Information was received that Syed Ahmed Mohiuddin, a 35-36-year-old from Hyderabad involved in terror activities, was coming to Ahmedabad. Upon investigation, his movement was tracked, and he was arrested at a toll plaza near Adalaj. He had done an MBBS from China and was planning a terrorist attack that could cause massive harm.

"He was in contact with foreigners and a Telegram ID, Abu Khadeja, supposedly linked to ISKP. He had started preparing Ricin, a chemical poison derived from castor beans, and came to Ahmedabad to receive a weapon delivery from Kalol,” he added.

DIG Joshi added that the other two suspects, Azad Suleman Sheikh and Mohd Suhel Salim Khan, are from Uttar Pradesh and were located in Banaskantha, Gujarat. They conducted reconnaissance in crowded areas of Lucknow, Delhi, and Ahmedabad, and their movements were also tracked in Kashmir.

DIG Joshi added, “The other two suspects from Uttar Pradesh, Azad Suleman Sheikh and Mohd Suhel Salim Khan, were located in Banaskantha, Gujarat. Both are radicals with religious education and maintain contacts abroad. They conducted reconnaissance in crowded areas of Lucknow, Delhi, and Ahmedabad, and their movement was also recorded in Kashmir.

"They had received weapons deliveries from Hanumangarh, Rajasthan, which were dropped in Kalol. Further investigation is underway. We have obtained the remand of one accused until November 17 and will produce the other two in court today.”
