The bridge is part of the 508-kilometre Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train route.
With a total of 12 stations planned, including stops in Mumbai, Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad, the bullet train project spans 352 km in Gujarat and 156 km in Maharashtra.
In comparison to the existing 6 to 8 hours by road or traditional train, the project is anticipated to drastically lower the travel time between Ahmedabad and Mumbai to only around three hours.
