A man has been arrested in Gujarat for allegedly running a fake court and delivering an order in connection with a land dispute in Gujarat. The arrested man has been identified as Morris Samuel Christian, who posed as a judge and operated a fake tribunal in the Gandhinagar area of Ahmedabad.

Christian has been passing 'judgements' since 2019, especially in land deals in the Gandhinagar area. The matter came to light after the case was brought for a hearing at Ahmedabad City Civil Court following a police complaint.

The accused has been running a fake mediation centre in Ahmedabad, where he impersonated a judge to deliver court orders on government lands. Christian misled individuals into believing they were engaged in actual legal proceedings. According to the complaint, the accused passed the orders in favour of his employees.

Christian assumed the role of a judge and exploited the vulnerable and manipulated legal proceedings for personal gain. Under the guise of a judge, he crafted an elaborate charade, employing his associates to pose as court personnel.

In 2019, Christian, who was already facing a cheating complaint filed at the city's Maninagar police station in 2015, issued a ruling in favour of his client using a similar approach.

The case involved government land overseen by the district collector, where his client claimed ownership and sought to have his name added to the revenue records for a plot in the Paldi area, according to a police statement released on Monday.

Christian falsely informed his client that he had been designated as the "official arbitrator" by the government, despite lacking any authority or a court order issued under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act.
