A Gujarat-based model died by suicide at her residence in Surat, the police said. The model was identified as Anjali Alpesh Varmora. She was working as a freelance model for different studios over the past several years.
On Monday, Surat's DCP Vijay Singh Gurjar told ANI that the model shared an emotional status. Anjali also tried to contact her fiance before the tragic incident, he added.
“A 23-year-old model, Anjali Alpesh Varmora, tragically died by suicide at her residence during the night of June 7 and 8,” Gurjar said.

Anjali was working as a freelance model and was associated with different studios. Besides fashion shoots, she also worked for textile and commercial modelling projects, the initial findings mentioned.
The family stated that Anjali was engaged and her wedding was set to take place this year. Though the wedding got postponed to the next year, as her fiance’s mother passed away. According to the police reports, she contacted her fiance before the incident, but he couldn’t respond at that moment. Her family was not at home when she died by suicide. When they returned home, she found her home was locked from the inside.
During the investigation, the police also found out that Anjali had shared an emotional status online, but she did not appear to be under stress. The emotional status did not mention any name. The police investigations are underway to find out the reason behind this tragic incident.
