Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder Case: Startling revelations have come to light in the gruesome murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, who was killed during his honeymoon in Shillong, Meghalaya. Investigations have confirmed that his wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, was the mastermind behind the plot, aided by her lover, Raj Kushwaha.

Sonam and Raja’s families met through the Raghuvanshi community app, and the couple got engaged on February 11. However, shortly after the engagement, Sonam allegedly began conspiring with Raj to eliminate Raja. The plan was to stage the murder as a robbery so that Sonam could become a widow and marry Raj without family resistance.

The Murder Plot

The two were married on May 11, and within just six days, on May 16, Sonam and Raj finalised the plan to kill Raja. She persuaded Raja to go to Shillong for their honeymoon, where the murder would take place.

Contract Killers Arranged

Three contract killers were arranged in Guwahati, Assam. A small axe, locally known as a ‘daw’, was ordered online and used in the murder. When Sonam and Raja arrived in Shillong, she shared their exact location with the killers, who were lodged in a hotel just 1 km away.

On May 23, under the guise of a photoshoot, Sonam took Raja to a secluded hilltop in the Korsa area. Midway through the climb, she pretended to be tired and fell behind. Raja continued ahead with the three assailants. Initially, the killers hesitated to carry out the act, claiming they were exhausted. In response, Sonam reportedly took Rs 15,000 from Raja’s wallet, handed it to them, and demanded, “You have to kill him.” She also promised them Rs 20 lakh as payment after the murder.

The chilling case continues to send shockwaves across the country, as authorities dig deeper into the motive, timeline, and people involved in the premeditated murder.
