Raj Kushwaha, Sonam's lover arrested for plotting Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder, had attended the latter’s funeral in Indore, the victim's family claimed. Slain Raja Raghuvanshi’s sister shared a video on social media and claimed the accused came to their house after her brother's body arrived. He was allegedly seen consoling the victim’s father.

Raja Raghuvanshi (29) was found dead on May 27 in a deep gorge in Meghlaya when he was on a honeymoon trip with his wife, Sonam. As per the police and several media reports, the wife is believed to have orchestrated the killing with the help of her lover.

Earlier, the victim’s mother said some people claimed to have seen Kushaha during his son’s funeral. She, however, clarified that she had never seen the person before.

Sonam Raghuvanshi, who was missing for 17 days, was on Monday located at a Dhaba in Ghazipur by UP Police. Senior cop said they were contacted by the MP Police and Sonam’s location was shared with them. A team of police reached the spot and took Sonam along. The Meghalaya Police was also apprised about the development.

A team of Meghalaya Police reached Ghazipur and Sonam was taken into custody. She is now being taken to Shillong on a transit remand.

Raja and Sonam went to Meghalaya on their honeymoon after their marriage on May 11. The husband and wife disappeared on May 23, hours after they checked out of a homestay at Nongriat village. Raja’s body was discovered on May 27 in a gorge with the help of a drone. Cops also recovered his mobile phone and a machete, believed to have been used in the crime.

Meghalaya Police on Monday arrested three persons from Indore, who admitted to having been hired as hitmen by Sonam to kill her husband.
