With monsoon activity coming to a pause in the Bay of Bengal, rainfall has decreased from torrential to scattered in Gujarat, which experienced flooding during the peak monsoon season. With reduced intensity of rainfall in the state, districts are barely recording half an inch of rain in the state.

Gujarat Weather Today: High Possibility Of Light Rain

As per the 5-day weather bulletin released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday, there is a high possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in nearly 21 districts of Gujarat.

The districts include mainly northern Gujarat, like Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari and Valsad.

Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is predicted at a few places in the rest of the districts on Thursday, with a low possibility.

The monsoon trough is expected to pass through East Rajasthan and North Gujarat, bringing relief to the region. Currently, the state is experiencing temperatures ranging from 26°C (minimum) to 33°C (maximum).

Rainfall Update In Gujarat

Gujarat has received 63.84% of its total seasonal rainfall so far. The breakdown is as follows:

- South Gujarat: 67.73%
- Kutch: 64.88%
- North Gujarat: 66.20%
- Central Gujarat: 66.23%
- Saurashtra: 55.79% ( lowest rainfall in the state)

Gujarat Weather Forecast

The weather department forecasts similar weather conditions in Gujarat's districts until Friday, with a weakening trend in light to moderate rain expected towards the end of the week.
A rain system is currently active towards Saurashtra, and light to moderate rain is predicted in the region. This is expected to bring some relief to the area, which has received the least rainfall in the state so far.
