Khalistani sympathiser Gurpatwant Singh Pannun stated that he will continue to advocate for the Khalistan referendum, undeterred by any threats against him. In an interview with Canada-based CTV News, Pannun claimed that further evidence would emerge linking Indian diplomats to the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
He also referred to India’s former High Commissioner to Canada, Sanjay Kumar Verma, as a "hypocrite."

“I’m not afraid of any threats and I’m not going to stop campaigning for the global Khalistan referendum. Verma is less of a diplomat and more of a hypocrite. What needs to be done is to decimate and dismantle the spy network, which they have built under Indian High Commissioner Sanjay Verma,” Pannun said during the interview.
The SFJ founder also said Indian consulates in Vancouver and Toronto were breeding agents and were challenging the sovereignty of Canada. “These Vancouver and Toronto Indian consulates are the hub of the spy network. Until these two consulates are permanently closed, they will keep on assassinating and challenging Canadian sovereignty,” he added.
India and Canada have been at odds since Justin Trudeau accused the Indian government of involvement in the killing of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Relations between the two nations deteriorated to the point where both countries withdrew diplomats, severing their ties.
Indian High Commissioner Sanjay Verma, in an interview with CTV News on Oct 20, alleged that Canada was a safe haven for the anti-India elements and the Trudeau-led regime was encouraging Khalistani extremism. “This is my allegation, I also know that some of these Khalistani extremists and terrorists are deep assets of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), again I’m not giving any evidence,” he said.
Verma also denied India’s role in the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
