A low-pressure area formed over the northern Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea on Tuesday is expected to reach the Odisha and West Bengal coasts by October 24, causing potential changes in Bihar’s weather. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts light to moderate rain across most parts of Bihar from October 24 to 27.

A yellow alert has been issued for October 24, warning of strong winds at speeds of 30-40 kmph in several districts, including Patna. Thunderstorms with lightning and light rain are also expected in some areas. However, the state is likely to experience dry weather with cloud movement over the next 24 hours, according to the IMD.

In the northeastern districts of Kishanganj, Purnia and Katihar, as well as southeastern areas including Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Munger and Khagaria, light rain is predicted at isolated places. West Champaran’s Sikta recorded 15.6 mm of rain, while Dumri in Shivhar saw 11.6 mm rain on Monday. Other areas, including Taraini, Gaunaha and Sitamarhi, also registered varying amounts of rain.
