The upcoming Global City Gurugram, being developed on the lines of Singapore, is set to get direct connectivity with the Dwarka Expressway through a proposed 150-metre underpass. An agreement between HSIIDC and NHAI has paved the way for smooth vehicular access from the expressway’s service lane to the project site.
The state government has planned to develop the Global City on 1003 acres in Sector-36B and Sector-37B areas, with the project to be developed in two phases. During the first phase, it will be developed on 587 acres. Around Rs 940 crore has been allocated for infrastructure development, with completion targeted by June 2027.
Infrastructure development will focus on roads, electricity, water, sewerage, and other amenities, along with developing a 10.5-kilometre-long utility system.
To improve Global City's connectivity with the Gurugram-Pataudi Road, the road from Captain Umang Bhardwaj Chowk to Dwarka Expressway will be widened to four lanes. This work will be jointly undertaken by HSIIDC and the Municipal Corporation to provide improved connectivity to Global City from both roads. In the future, the Metro will also be extended to areas near the project.
Key Benefits:

- Cyber City will feature iconic buildings modelled after Singapore's famous Universal Studios and Dubai's Burj Khalifa, to give visitors a sense of Dubai and Singapore.
Designed as a green, sustainable urban hub, the city will reserve nearly 125 acres for open and green spaces, with provisions for schools, a college, and a world-class hospital. It will also allow high-rise buildings above 100 floors and follow a single-window clearance system for approvals. The project aims to include:
- A Light Rapid Transit (Metro)
- Dedicated bus routes with EV buses
- Pedestrian walkways
- Cycle tracks
The infrastructure for the Global City is not yet complete, though several companies have expressed interest in investing in the project. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has already met with representatives of these companies.
These include the names of real estate sector giants like DLF, Bestech, Lodha Group, Hero Realty, L&T, Adani Realty, Prestige Group, Eldaco Group, Signature Group, RMG, Unity Group, Embassy Group, CBRE Group, ASF Group and JLL Group.
“With the construction of the underpass, vehicles will be able to reach Global City directly from the service lane of the Dwarka Expressway without stopping anywhere. The Metro is also scheduled to be extended to Global City in the future. The road from Captain Umang Bhardwaj Chowk to the Dwarka Expressway will also be widened to improve connectivity from the other side,” said Arun Garg, Additional General Manager, HSIDC.
Key Features of the project:
- It will be an eco-friendly city modelled after the Manhattan skyline.
- There will be a seven-day backup system for the water supply in Global City.
- About 125 acres of land will be reserved for greenery and open space.
- Most of the world's Fortune 500 companies will have corporate offices there.
- 56.08 per cent of the land will be used for commercial purposes and 40.05 percent for residential purposes.
- 2.73 per cent of the land will be used for institutional purposes, and the remaining 1.14 percent will be used for utility purposes.
- The focus will be on non-polluting IT and AI-based industries.
- The city will also have six on-campus schools, a college and a world-class hospital.
