In a heart-wrenching incident, a minor girl studying in class 11 was gangraped by two of her friends after they offered her a lift in Gurugram, the police said on Thursday.

Both the accused are BCom students, who came in contact with the victim via Instagram. The police officials said that after raping the 17-year-old girl, they threw her from their car near her house and fled from the spot.

The accused have been identified as Ankit (19) from Bihar and Lakshya (18) of Uttar Pradesh. In a statement, the police said that they were arrested late on Thursday evening.

According to the police, the accused met the victim on Instagram some three months ago. According to a complaint filed by the victim's father, her daughter, who studies in a government school, left home for tuition at 4:30 pm but did not return even after 6:30 pm.

He added that he reached the tuition centre but found out that her daughter did not arrive there. Worried about her, the family start searching for her.

At around 8 pm, she returned home and narrated the ordeal. "It was around 8 pm when my daughter reached home. She was scared and started crying," the father said in the complaint.

The complaint further added that Lakshya and Ankit picked her up from the way on the pretext of dropping at the tuition but raped her at a secluded location.

"She said that when she was on her way to the tuition centre, Lakshya and Ankit came in the middle of the road in a black car. They took her in the car on the pretext of dropping her off at the tuition centre, even though she had repeatedly refused. Then the accused drove her to a secluded area, where both of them raped her," the complaint said.
