Power supply in several areas of Gurugram will remain affected on May 29 due to maintenance and load-shifting work at the 66 kV substation in Sector-9.

The shutdown, carried out by Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPNL), began at 8 am. Officials said the work involved shifting the load to the newly commissioned 12.5/16 MVA Transformer-4.

As part of the process, the 11 kV XLPE power cables connected to Transformer-2 were removed and linked to the VCB panels of Transformer-4. During the operation, certain incomers of the 66/11 kV Transformer-2 and Transformer-4 remained shut down.

Power supply to nine feeders carrying an estimated load of 20 MVA remained affected between 8 am and 9 am.

These include:

-ESIC

-Water Supply 9A

-Nehru Line

-Bhawani Enclave

-BNC-2

-Basai Industries

-Countrywide

-Dhoot Infra

-HSIDC feeders.

In addition, four feeders, Basai Industry New, Societies 9A, Gurudwara, and New Colony, were scheduled to remain affected from 8 am to 12 pm.

However, the engineer at the 66 kV substation said the load of the New Colony, Village Basai New, Market-9, and Ravi Nagar feeders had already been shifted to alternate sources, ensuring uninterrupted power supply in these areas.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms along with light rain and strong winds in Gurugram on Friday. On Thursday, the region's maximum temperature was recorded at 39 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature remained 29 degrees Celsius.
