Gurugram Rains: Heavy rain lashed Haryana's Gurugram on Monday evening causing widespread chaos in the city. One hour of intense downpour led to severe waterlogging. Traffic snarls were reported on Jharssa Road and main squares, Signature Tower, IFFCO Chowk, Subhash Chowk, Rajiv Chowk and Hero Honda Chowk of the city. Apart from this, vehicles were stuck in traffic on Delhi Jaipur Highway from Hero Honda Chowk to Umang Bhardwaj Chowk and Hero Honda Chowk Manesar. According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rainfall is expected till July 6. 

On Monday morning, Gurugram city received 2 mm of rain. Sohna received 20 mm of rain in the morning. Electricity was also cut off in some areas due to tree fall. Apart from the city, the Manesar area also received rainfall. Commuters on the Delhi-Jaipur highway faced difficulties. The service lane of the highway was submerged in water in Narsinghpur.

While heavy rain brought relief from the heat, it also increased trouble in residential areas. Waterlogging occurred on the roads of Sectors 4, 5, 9, 10, 10A, 15 of old Gurugram and Sector 38, Medanta Hospital Road, Artemis Hospital Road, Sector 52, Sector 47 including Sushant Lok, Sector 45, 46, 52, 53, 56 and 57 of new Gurugram.

Temp Drop In Gurugram

Due to rain, the maximum and minimum temperatures of the city have dropped by about four degrees Celsius. After rain, the maximum temperature was recorded at 31.5 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was recorded at 25.9 degrees Celsius. Earlier, the day's temperature was recorded above 35 degrees Celsius.

Waterlogging Prone Areas

-Medanta Hospital Road, Sector 38, Mayfield Garden Road, Service Lane of Delhi-Jaipur Highway Narsinghpur.

-Artemis Road, Sushant Lok 2 and 3, Pataudi Road, Sector 9, Sector 10

-There is heavy waterlogging at more than 50 places in the city including Old Delhi Road.
