The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level. It is likely to move slowly west-northwestwards across North Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand.

Monsoon Update

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several states are likely to receive light to heavy rain in the upcoming few days. According to the weather department, the monsoon has arrived in the entire country nine days before the normal date of July 8. It emphasised that while the rain has provided relief from scorching heat by reducing the maximum temperature, it has led to other issues such as landslides and flood-like situations.

The IMD stated that multiple northern states are expected to receive rain along with thunderstorms and gusty winds with speeds of 60-70 kmph. The residents are also advised to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
