In a shocking incident, a 47-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping his two minor daughters in Gurugram, the police officials said on Thursday. The FIR was registered in the case on Wednesday.

The matter came to light on September 4 after the younger daughter, aged 12, told her teacher about how his father used to consume alcohol, drag her to the room, and assault her.

On protest by her or her mother, the accused would beat them, the girl told her teacher. She was being sexually assaulted for the last 2 years.

The younger girl, studying in a government school, also told her teacher that her elder sister, aged 17, had been facing similar assault for the last six years.

Earlier on Tuesday, a man was arrested in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia for allegedly raping his 12-year-old cousin sister. The other relative who "facilitated" the crime was absconding, police said.

According to the complaint, the incident occurred on September 2 when the two took the minor girl from her maternal grandmother's house at a village in Ballia district on a motorcycle after lying to her that her father was ill.
