Gurugram Traffic Challan: To improve traffic safety on highways and expressways, the traffic police have launched a special campaign targeting lane-driving violations. Between January and September 2025, a total of 53,145 drivers were fined for improper lane changes.

Since September alone, 2,433 drivers have been fined, amounting to a total of Rs 18,25,500. According to Jagran.com, five drivers have also been booked under Section 285 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at various police stations.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dr. Rajesh Mohan said the drive specifically targets drivers using the wrong lane. Challans are being issued with the help of surveillance cameras and drones installed by NHAI on NH-48, Sohna Road, and the Dwarka Expressway.

He added that the goal is to make roads safer by regulating traffic flow. Wrong-lane driving and sudden lane changes are among the major causes of road accidents, endangering both the driver and others.
