Haryana is witnessing a big political turmoil as three independent MLAs, who were supporting the BJP government, have abruptly switched sides to join the Congress camp. As the move comes, the Nayab Saini-led government has lost the majority in the Assembly, with the Opposition asserting the house be dissolved followed by an announcement of fresh polls. CM Saini made a cryptic remark over the fiasco and rebuked Congress for prioritising its desires before the public.

- Reacting over the fiasco, Former BJP ally and deputy CM of Haryana, Dushyant Chautala, said CM Saini had accepted that he was weak and hence was not entitled to continue on moral grounds

- Former Haryana Minister Anil Vij said the defect of three independent MLAs in Congress was saddening. He said Bhupinder Hooda’s desires will never be fulfilled as they had several ways to deal with the crisis
- Dushyant Chautala said the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) will vote against the BJP government if a no-confidence motion is moved in the house
- Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta said he was not officially told that the BJP had lost majority
- Former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar claimed several Haryana MLAs from opposition parties were in touch with BJP and they were not at all worried about the stability of their government
- Three independent MLAs--Sombir Sangwan, Randhir Gollen and Dharampal Gonder-- on Tuesday withdrew their support from the BJP and switched sides to back the Congress. The trio said they would be supporting the grand old party in the forthcoming Assembly polls
- Former Haryana CM and Leader of Opposition, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, said the BJP had no right to continue as they were in the minority. He also thanked the three independent MLAs for supporting the Congress

- The 90-member Haryana Assembly currently has 88 MLAs. As many as 45 lawmakers are required to prove the majority
- Notably, the Congress party brought a no-confidence motion against the BJP. However, the saffron party proved the majority and saved the government
