In a deeply disturbing incident that has shaken Haryana’s Rohtak district, a young farmer from Dobh village ended his life after alleged betrayal and psychological torture by his wife and her lover. The man, Magan, left behind emotional video messages that reveal a dark web of deceit, emotional trauma, blackmail, and financial extortion.
Magan, known for his simple and honest life, had been married to Divya for over a year and a half when he learned a devastating truth, Divya was already married and had a child. Rather than pursue legal action, Magan took a generous route: he paid her first husband to legally separate, hoping for a fresh start with Divya.
But that decision didn’t bring peace.
Magan later discovered that Divya was in a relationship with a police officer named Deepak, posted in Sambhaji Nagar, Aurangabad. In his final videos, Magan accused the two of harassing and extorting him for money. He said Deepak had demanded Rs 5 lakh for a job promotion and used Divya to put pressure on him.
“I sold wheat I had grown with my own hands and gave Rs 1.5 lakh,” Magan said. He also mentioned pawning his gold bangle on June 9 to raise Rs 2 lakh, which Divya allegedly transferred to Deepak’s account. But their demands continued to grow.
He said they then asked for another Rs 1.5 lakh and even threatened to frame him for his own father’s murder if he didn’t sell his ancestral land. The final blow came when Divya allegedly sent him a video of herself dancing intimately with Deepak. According to Magan, it pushed him into deep depression.
On June 18, Magan recorded and posted two emotional videos on social media. In them, he named both Divya and Deepak and appealed for justice. He addressed his adopted sister, social worker Savita Arya, and said, “Sister, when women cry, they’re heard even when they’re wrong. But men, even when they’re right, die unheard. Please speak up for men too.”
“Sister, when women cry, they are heard, even if they’re wrong. But even if men are right, they die unheard. Please do something for men too.”
He also requested Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda and Meham MLA Balram Dangi to ensure that his son is raised by his aging parents. “Please visit my home,” he said, “and promise my parents that my child will stay with them.”
Soon after sharing the videos, Magan went to his farm and hanged himself from a tree.
His death has left the entire village in shock. Family members and locals are demanding strict action against Divya and Deepak, holding them responsible for Magan’s death.
