During the Ram Navami celebrations in Hazaribagh city, incidents of stone pelting and vandalism occurred during the Mangala procession, creating a tense atmosphere. The unrest took place on the night of March 25 near Jhanda Chowk, where some participants were performing stick tricks. A dispute between two communities escalated over an issue, leading to stone pelting.

Members of the procession claim that stones were thrown at them, which quickly worsened the situation, resulting in vandalism of nearby shops. Due to the chaos, the Eid market was also forced to shut down. To control the violence, the police had to fire four rounds in the air.

As the clashes erupted around 10:45 pm, a heavy police presence was deployed in the area. Hazaribagh SP Arvind Kumar Singh is on-site, overseeing efforts to restore order. Other officials, including the Sadar SDO, have also arrived to manage the situation.

"One group was playing some songs during the procession, which was objected to by the second group, resulting in a scuffle and stone pelting. But it did not escalate as the forces deployed there took control of the situation. As of now, the situation is peaceful and under control," news agency ANI quoted Hazaribagh Deputy Commissioner Nancy Sahay.

In light of the escalating tension, the administration has halted the Mangala procession of another Akhara before it reached Jhanda Chowk. Authorities are continuously monitoring the situation and urging both communities to maintain peace.
