Himachal Bus Fare Hike:  It will now cost more to carry luggage on Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) buses as the corporation has set the cost for bags weighing between 0 and 5 kg. The proposal was brought up for consideration at the HRTC Board of Directors meeting on September 28.

The notification was issued following the Board of Directors' approval. The corporation's management sent the notification soon before Diwali. People take goods home during Diwali; thus, they will now have to pay an amount for them.

Rates For THESE Items Revised

The costs for carrying goods in bags, boxes containing vehicle spare parts, electrical equipment, dry fruits, kitchenware, cosmetics, woolen products (hosiery items), pharmaceuticals, and medical equipment, with and without passengers, have been revised.

According to the release, if a person travels in a bus with luggage weighing 0 to 5 kg, he must pay one-fourth of the cost. A legitimate ticket will be issued in this case. Similarly, for luggage between 6 to 40 kg, the passenger must pay half of the ticket fee, while luggage reaching 41 to 80 kg must be paid in full.

Rates For Items Without Passenger

If a person sends the aforementioned luggage on the HRTC bus without passengers, he will have to pay a higher ticket. For luggage weighing 0 to 5 kg without people, one-fourth of the passenger ticket fee must be paid. For sending luggage weighing 6 to 20 kilograms, one-half of the passenger ticket fee must be paid.

For luggage weighing 21 to 40 kg, the entire ticket fee will be paid. If the luggage weighs between 41 and 80 kg, two persons' ticket must be paid for its carrying.
