Himachal Pradesh Rain Update: Monsoon has started wreaking havoc in several areas of Himachal Pradesh including Mandi district. In the last two days, Pandoh and Katola of the district have received more than 150 mm of rain. Due to heavy rain, the temporary crater constructed using cratewall last year near Char Mile on the Kiratpur-Manali four-lane completely collapsed on Thursday afternoon.
Heavy rains have caused significant disruption across the state, leading to the closure of 115 roads and vehicular traffic. The Shimla meteorological office has also issued an orange alert.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Rohit Rathore and Additional Police Sagar Chandra Sharma along with NHAI officials conducted a joint inspection from Char Mile to Scissors turn.
Situation Critical In Pulgharat
The situation in Pulgharat adjoining Mandi city remains critical. The road has been blocked several times in the last 24 hours due to landslides. The administration has deployed JCBs and police personnel to keep the situation in control.
Due to the frequent closure of roads, there is a long queue of vehicles disrupting lives of people. At least 52 roads are blocked due to rain and landslides across the district.

Parashar Lake Entry Ban
The main road leading to Parashar Lake has been closed. Other alternative routes have also become dangerous due to rain. The administration has requested people and tourists to avoid going to Parashar Lake until the situation gets normal.
The flow of the Beas River is constantly fluctuating. The administration has requested people not to go to the river bank.
Flood In Suketi Khad Destroyed Tomato Crop
Due to a flood in Suketi Khad on Thursday morning, tomato crop in about 500 hectares of land from Dadour to Baihna in the plains of Balh valley was completely damaged, causing a loss of lakhs of rupees to the farmers. The Revenue Department has started assessing the loss.
The orange alert, which is in effect until Friday, warns of heavy to very heavy rains along with thunderstorms and lightning in isolated areas. During the past 24 hours, Himachal Pradesh's Kataula (Mandi) recorded 15 cm of rainfall, Pandoh (Mandi) recorded 11 cm and Sujanpur Tira (Hamirpur) recorded 8 cm of rainfall.
