Himachal Cheque Bounce Case: A check bounce has become a lesson for Himachal Pradesh, or it would be fit to say a grammar lesson. In a presumably embarrassing incident from Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur, a bank rejected a cheque written by a government school principal over the wrong spelling of the amount.
The photo of the cheque is now going viral, with people questioning whether high school fees and parents’ struggle to keep up with rising education costs are even worth it when a principal of a secondary government school can mistakenly write ‘thursday’ to Thousand and ‘sixty’ to sixteen.
The incident occurred in Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh, where the principal of Government Senior Secondary School, Ronhat, issued a cheque with peculiar spelling errors. Despite the numerical amount of Rs 7,616 being correct, the words on the cheque read: "Saven Thursday six Harendra sixty rupees only." This cheque was meant for a Mid-Day Meal worker and was dated September 25.

Viral Cheque Image Becomes Lesson For Himachal
An X user named @I_Love_Himachal posted the image of the cheque with wrong spelling with a caption, “Rs 7,616 ..…‘Saven Thursday Six Harendra Sixty Rupees Only.’ The check of Rs 7,616 issued by the principal of the Government Senior Secondary School located in Ronhat, Sirmaur, is making headlines. More than the amount, this check has gone viral because of its words."
Embarrassment For School System Or Meme Material
The post, which went up on September 29, has racked up over 2,000 views and sparked a wave of humorous reactions and pointed remarks. While the cheque's blunder has become internet fodder for many, it's a major embarrassment for the school system.
A person wrote, “Fault in the autocorrect system of pen!"
Another called it, “A burden on the country and society, the master people of Himachal."

The bank indeed rejected the cheque due to the principal's spelling mistake, prompting the school to issue a corrected one. However, the damage was already done. The image of the flawed cheque had gone viral on social media, becoming a meme sensation and fueling discussions about the standard of education.
