Himachal Pradesh Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday stated that several districts of Himachal Pradesh are likely to receive rainfall for the next few days. The weather department stated that the continuous rainfall has led to the blockage of several key routes. While the rainfall has provided relief from heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius, it has also led to waterlogging and power outages. The weather department has advised the residents and tourists to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

While providing details, the IMD stated that several districts, including Kangra, Mandi, Una, Bilaspur, Shimla, and Sirmaur, are likely to receive rainfall on July 28. Apart from this, Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, and Shimla are also likely to witness very heavy rainfall on July 30. The weather department also stated that these regions are also expected to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds with speeds of 40-60 kmph.

The continuous rainfall over the past few days has dropped the maximum temperature in the state by two to five degrees Celsius. While providing details, the IMD stated that the temperature dropped by 5.1 degrees Celsius in Dhaula Kuan, 4.4 degrees Celsius in Narkanda, 2.5 degrees Celsius in Bilaspur, and 1.2 degrees Celsius in Una.

The weather department also stated that 132 roads, including National Highway (NH)-70 in Mandi and NH-305 in Kullu, are closed for traffic due to rain and landslides in the state. It further stated that 46 roads are closed in Kullu, 12 in Kangra, four in Una, three in Shimla, two in Sirmaur, and one each in Chamba and Lahaul Spiti.

The weather department stated that apart from Himachal Pradesh, several other states, including Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi-NCR, are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. It also advised the tourists to follow the guidelines and plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconveniences.
