On Tuesday, several districts of the state recorded intermittent showers, bringing a drop in temperature. As rains lashed the state, the weather has become pleasant and has left tourists delighted. Shimla witnessed a heavy spell of rain today. The heavy downpour in the hilly state disrupted local routines to some extent.

The weather in the state has become pleasant for the tourists, especially from the neighbouring states like Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, and Delhi, who had escaped sweltering temperatures back home. The tourists expressed joy at the cooler climate and picturesque mist-covered landscapes.

News agency ANI quoted one of the tourists named Vikramjeet Kaur, saying, "It feels really good here, although the rain did interrupt our sightseeing a little. It's our first time in Shimla, and it started raining right away. The weather has become really beautiful. There are some challenges with photography because of the mist, but overall it's an enjoyable and romantic experience."

The latest spell of rainfall has been brought by the southwest monsoon, which arrived in the hilly state recently. Although the weather has been pleasant so far, the local residents are also apprehensive of the losses that incessant rains often bring, as happened in 2023.
