In yet another road accident case, as many as 7 people are  killed while several others are injured after a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus plunged into a gorge in Mandi district on Thursday morning, Jagran.com reported. 

The fatal accident occurred at Tarangla near Maseran when the bus was en route to  Durgapur from Sarkaghat. The bus carrying 30 people rolled 25 metres down after skidding off the road. 

The injured passengers were swiftly shifted to the Civil Hospital at Sarkaghat, from where three were in critical condition and were referred to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bilaspur.

Deputy Chief Minster and Transport Minister Mukesh Agnihotri rushed to the incident site as being informed about the accident. 

The HRTC bus, carrying over 30 passengers, was en route from Sarkaghat to Jamni when the accident occurred at 9 am near Tangra turn in Maseran. While attempting to provide a way to the car, the driver lost control, and the bus veered off the road, plummeting into a 50-foot deep ditch.

Those killed, include 4 women, a teenager and 2 men, and are Identified As: 

1. Balveer (60), son of Saju Ram, Pati Bhalyara, Jamni, Sarkaghat, Mandi

2. Antariksh (17), son of Kishori Lal, Garaudu, Bhadrawad, Sarkaghat, Mandi

3. Barfi Devi (80), wife of Roop Singh, Bhalyana, Maseran, Sarkaghat, Mandi

4. Geeta Devi (65), wife of Bishan Chand, Rasehad, Maseran, Sarkaghat, Mandi

5. Doma Devi (70), wife of Laskari Ram, Ramehad, Maseran, Sarkaghat, Mandi

6. Kalasi Devi (60), wife of Kashiram, Talgara, Maseran, Sarkaghat, Mandi

7. Suman Kumar (33), son of Jagdish Chand, Maseran, Sarkaghat, Mandi
