On Saturday, most places in Himachal Pradesh experienced rainfall, with heavy downpours reported in the Sirmaur and Shimla districts. Besides, the Lahaul Valley witnessed snowfall on the peaks of Lady of Keylong, Rohtang, Shinkula, Baralacha, and Kunzum. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for potential floods in some areas of the Chamba, Kangra, Kinnaur, Mandi, Shimla, and Sirmaur districts due to heavy rainfall on Sunday.

Search operations are underway for missing persons from the flood caused by cloudbursts in Shimla, Kullu, and Mandi districts on the night of July 31. Soldiers from the Army, ITBP, NDRF, and SDRF are engaged in the search effort.

As many as 65 roads across the state have been closed for traffic owing to disruptions due to heavy rainfall and landslides.

The flood in the Lahaul Valley has damaged approximately 200 meters of the Darcha-Shinkula road. This has disrupted vehicle movement between Zanskar and Manali. Flooding has also been witnessed in several streams in the Lahaul-Spiti region, including Shinkula.

The Paonta Sahib-Shilai-Gumma National Highway 707 in Sirmaur district was closed around 1:30 PM on Saturday due to a landslide. The road near Sataun was blocked for three hours because of the landslide. Meanwhile, rocks are falling from the hillside in Nigulsari, Kinnaur. However, the road has been reopened for traffic. Landslides are also occurring on the Nerva-Shimla main road between the market and the Public Works Department rest house.

On Sunday, the Meteorological Department issued a flood warning for some areas in Chamba, Kangra, Kinnaur, Mandi, Shimla, and Sirmaur districts due to heavy rainfall. The department has advised people to stay away from rivers, streams, and landslide-prone areas.
