Passenger services on the Noida-Greater Noida Metro will resume at 2 PM on March 25 due to Holi, officials announced on Saturday. The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) stated that the trains would run at a regular frequency of every 15 minutes after 2 PM.

NMRC Managing Director Lokesh M said, "On the occasion of the Holi festival - March 25, 2024 (Monday), Metro services will not be available till 2 PM."

"Metro train services will thus start at 2 PM from both terminal stations on Aqua Line and will continue normally thereafter at a frequency of 15 minutes," the senior IAS officer said.

The NMRC's Aqua Line travels 29.7 km through 21 stations in Noida and Greater Noida.

On Friday, officials announced that the Delhi Metro, which has stations in Noida for both the Blue Line and the Magenta Line, will begin operating on March 25 at 2:30 PM.

Indian Railways To Run 540 Additional Trains On Holi

To handle the anticipated rise in passenger traffic on Holi 2024, which will be observed on March 25, Indian Railways will operate over 540 additional train services. Major cities such as Delhi, Patna, Mumbai, Kolkata, Puri, Jaipur, Jammu, Surat, Ranchi, Guwahati, etc. will be connected by these trains.

Central Railway has notified 88 train services, East Central Railway will run 79 train services, Eastern Railway will run 17, Eastern Coastal Railway will run 12, North Central Railway will run 16, and North Eastern Railway will run 39 trains, according to an official notification from the Ministry of Railways.

Further train services are scheduled to operate by the North Frontier Railway (14 trains), Northern Railway (93 trains), North Wester Railway (25 trains), South Central Railway (19 trains), South Eastern Railway (34 trains), South East Central Railway (4 trains), South Western Railway (6 trains), West Central Railway (13 trains), and Western Railway (62 trains).
