Railway News: The railways on Wednesday announced the extension of Howrah-Bhagalpur Vande Bharat to Jamalpur station from August 16. The authority stated the decision was taken after receiving multiple requests from the authorities and the passengers of the nearby districts. While providing details, the authority stated that the move will provide convenience to the residents of Munger and other nearby districts by significantly cutting the travel time. It further advised the passengers to stay updated and plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.

While providing details, the authority stated that Vande Bharat Express will cover the 450 km distance between Jamalpur and Howrah in just 6.35 hours. It further stated that the train will operate on all six days of the week except Friday. The railway further stated that train number 22309 Up will leave from Howrah at 7.45 am, adding that it will arrive at Bolpur Shanti Niketan at 9.13 am, Rampurhat station at 10 am, Dumka at 11.05 am, Naunihat at 11.32 am, Hansdiha at 11.50 am, Mandarhill at 12.12 pm, Barahat at 12.30 pm, Bhagalpur at 1.15 pm, and Jamalpur at 2.15 pm.

It further stated that Vande Bharat Express train number 22310 will leave from Jamalpur at 3.30 pm. It will reach Bhagalpur at 4.22 pm, Barahat at 5.02 pm, Mandarhill at 5.16 pm, Hansdiha at 5.38 pm, Naunihat at 5.53 pm, Dumka at 6.25 pm, Rampur Hat at 7.18 pm, Bolpur Shanti Niketan at 7.56 pm, and Howrah at 10.05 pm. The officials stated that the Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan, alias Lallan Singh, and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary will flag off the Vande Bharat Express at Jamalpur Junction on August 16.

Earlier last week, Lalan Singh stated that the residents of Munger had a strong demand that the Vande Bharat Express should start operating from Jamalpur Junction. He further stated that two new pit lines are being constructed at Jamalpur Junction. The Union Minister said that the people of Jamalpur-Munger and the surrounding areas will also benefit from the running of Vande Bharat, adding that small and big businessmen will also get a lot of convenience in business.
