New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: In a surprising twist to the case, the Telangana Police on Friday morning informed that all the four accused in the rape and murder of 26-year-old Hyderabad veterinarian doctor were killed in an encounter.
The police said that the accused were taken to the site where they had committed the unholy crime as a part of investigations. When the accused tried to flee the spot, the police were left with no option and had to gun down the accused, they said.

Here’s what happened in the case so far:
Father of the woman veterinarian after the news of encounter broke out said, “It has been 10 days to the day my daughter died. I express my gratitude towards the police & govt for this. My daughter's soul must be at peace now”.
Today (December 6) at around 3:00 am, the Telangana Police took the accused to spot where they had committed the crime to recreate the crime as apart of investigations. The accused tried to flee the spot and also tried to snatch the weapons of the Police. The police left with no option and gunned down all four accused at the same spot where they had dumped the vet’s body.
Earlier on Wednesday (December 4), a magistrate court in Shadnagar granted the police custody of the four accused of seven days. The police had requested to grant them 14 days of custody but only seven days were granted.
The Telangana High Court on Wednesday issued orders designating the first additional district and sessions judge at Mahbubnagar to adjudicate the Disha rape and murder case after Law Secretary A Santhosh Reddy wrote to the high court, seeking permission to set up a special court for a speedy trial.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao ordered the officials concerned to initiate the process of setting up a special court for expeditious trial of the case.
Meanwhile, massive protests across the nation erupted with the Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) members who went on an indefinite hunger strike.
The accused were booked under 376D, 302, 201 of the IPC and Criminal Amendment Act 2013.
The four accused, identified as Mohammad (26), Jollu Shiva (20), Jollu Naveen (20) and Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu, later agreed to the allegations. All the accused worked as lorry drivers and cleaners.
On November 29, the Telangana Police arrested four people in connection with the case.
The news of unholy incident reminded the nation of the Nirbhaya case that happened in 2012 in Delhi. People across the country started protesting against the incident and demanded stringent punishment to the culprits without delay.
The 26-year-old veterinarian had gone missing on Wednesday (November 27), while she was returning home from work. During the investigations, it was revealed that on her way back, she stopped near the Shamshabad toll booth and parked her vehicle there. She later took a cab to visit a dermatologist. When she returned back to her parked vehicle at around 9 pm, she found her two-wheeler punctured.
The victim last called her sister at around 9:15 pm on Wednesday (November 27) night and told her that she was stranded due to the punctured tires. The call recording also suggests that she was feeling scared due to the suspicious behaviour of some truck drivers nearby.
After the missing complaint was filed by the family members of the victim at 1 am on Thursday ( November 28), the Police in the preliminary investigation found that the woman was murdered and allegations of rape were also made. However, on the same day, Telangana Police confirmed that the victim was gang-raped and then brutally murdered.
On November 28, Telangana Police found a charred body of a woman under a culvert in Shamshabad, 60 kilometers from Hyderabad.
