The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Hyderabad as the city grapples with flood-like situations with the Musi River in spate. According to the weather department, the city will receive light to moderate rainfall at one or two places.

In a post on X, Telangana Weatherman said, “As the LPA totally moved away, today there won't be any major rains in Telangana. Till evening - Mainly dry weather expected. Scattered passing light to moderate rains expected in Telangana, including Hyderabad, during the evening to night in a few places, however, not widespread in nature.”

Hyderabad received 194.1 mm of rainfall in a single day on September 26th, which was 408% more than the normal 38.2 mm. Due to continuous rainfall and the release of water from Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar, the Musi River is flowing above the danger mark. Nearby residential colonies were flooded. 1,000 people were rescued.
