Bengaluru News: Former Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash was killed at his home in Bengaluru’s HSR Layout on Sunday. Police believe the 68-year-old retired officer was murdered by his wife, Pallavi, following a dispute. After the incident, Pallavi is said to have made a video call to a friend, reportedly saying, “I have killed the monster.” She and their daughter Kriti have both been taken into custody for questioning.

According to the investigation, the couple had been arguing frequently. On the day of the incident, their fight took a violent turn. Pallavi allegedly used chilli powder to blind her husband before attacking him with a sharp knife. Prakash died on the spot. His body was found in a pool of blood on the ground floor of their three-storey residence.
The PTI report cited Police sources as mentioning that a land dispute in Dandeli, Karnataka, may have been a factor in the conflict. Pallavi had earlier visited the HSR Layout police station to file a complaint, but when the matter was not addressed, she reportedly sat in protest outside the station.
It has also come to light that Pallavi was undergoing treatment for schizophrenia. However, the police are still verifying if her condition played a role in the crime.
