A Bengaluru-based CEO and founder on Wednesday emphasised on the affordable bus rides in the city, adding that he was left surprised as the ride just cost him Rs 6. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Capitalmind founder Deepak Shenoy stated that a knee injury led him to take a bus ride, adding that he was left surprised by the public transport service. He further added that he did not even need to pay the small amount by cash, as the bus had the option of UPI payment.
"I took a bus for Rs 6 today and walked 30 minutes to the office. I'm still stunned that something costs just Rs 6," Shenoy wrote in his post. "I take public transport all the time—A/C bus and metro fares are usually higher. I typically walk short distances, but with my knee injury, I opted for a quick 1 km bus ride. Even then, I was surprised at how cheap it was," he added.

The appreciation post for the public transport went viral, receiving more than 1500 likes and 500 reshares. While most of the netizens appreciated him for promoting the public transport, others pointed out that the bus ride is smooth only on limited routes. However, other social media users pointed out that public transport must be improved for better traffic and air quality.
"Public Transport, if promoted well, can transform the way Indians commute. Safety, reliability, and affordability are 3 key aspects of any successful public transport system. Delhi Metro has been able to stand out on all 3 parameters," one of the social media users pointed out.
"Yes sir. It is interesting you threw light on public transport. The only way the public can improve their lives is through a cheap public transportation system which can be a game changer for the poor and middle class. Public transport is the lifeline of any city for the local," another social media user stated.
