IKEA’s Strategy for India: Hybrid Expansion Model

IKEA India CEO Susanne Pulverer highlighted that North India, particularly Delhi-NCR, is the country’s largest market for home furnishings. To cater to this demand, the company is adopting a hybrid omni-channel strategy—starting with online sales before establishing full-scale physical stores, News18 reported.

Currently, 30% of IKEA India’s sales come from online orders, demonstrating the growing demand for digital shopping. The company believes this approach will help it reach more customers before its large-format stores become operational.

With its expanding presence in both physical and digital retail, IKEA is set to revolutionise home shopping in India, bringing affordable and stylish furniture to even more households.
