IMD Weather Alert: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rain and thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds in multiple states in India over the next few days. As per the weather body, unsuitable weather conditions prevail over the Southern Peninsular India, East, Central and some parts of Western India.

South India Weather

Light to moderate rain and thunderstorms is likely over South Peninsular India.

Tamil Nadu is expected to witness heavy rain between October 16-20. Meanwhile, Kerala and Mahe will see similar conditions between October 16 and 21. Sporadic rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected to lash coastal Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep.

East And Central India Weather

Thunderstorms with lightning and squally winds, which are 30 to 40 km/h, are predicted over

Odisha is likely to see thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and squally winds on October 16. Some areas of Madhya Pradesh will also witness lightning. The IMD has advised people in these areas to remain alert and take precautions.

West India Weather

Thunderstorms with lightning are expected to affect the Goa and Konkan regions on October 16 and 17. Additionally, some areas may see isolated heavy rainfall on October 16. Residents, especially those commuting for work or other purposes, are advised to take appropriate precautions based on the severity of the weather conditions.
