Pahalgam Attack Updates: India has allowed Pakistani citizens to leave the country through the Integrated Check Post at Attari border until further directions are announced. Earlier last week, the government had stated that the Pakistan citizens would only be allowed to cross the border until April 30. The reports suggest that the decision was taken on humanitarian grounds following a request from the Pak citizens.

However, the advisory stated that all other passenger and goods movements will remain suspended. The reports suggest that the decision was taken on humanitarian grounds after receiving multiple requests from the Pakistani citizens.

“In reference to Ministry of Home Affairs OM of even number dated 24 April 2025 on the above-mentioned subject, wherein it was ordered to close all types of incoming and outgoing passengers and movement of goods through the Integrated Check Post Attari with immediate effect, and permitting those who have crossed the border with valid endorsements to return through the route before 01 May 2025.” the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) stated in its press release.

“The order in the said OM has been reviewed and in partial modification of the said OM, it is now ordered that Pakistani nationals may be allowed to exit India to go into Pakistan from Integrated Check Post at Attari till further orders, with due clearances. This issues with the approval of the Competent Authority,” it added.

Earlier on Wednesday, the officials stated that 786 Pakistani nationals have already exited through the border in the last six days. They further informed that 1,376 Indians returned from Pakistan via the same route since April 24, reported ANI.

Earlier last week, the central government also suspended the Indus Water Treaty (IWT), stating that Pakistan has not stopped the terror activities in PoK even after several warnings. Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured that strict action will be taken against the offenders, adding that several global leaders have extended their support to India in its fight against terrorism.
