India agreed on the cessation of the clash with Pakistan and resorted to talks after the United States warned the former about an ‘alarming intelligence’, CNN reported citing the officials of Trump’s administration. As per the US media outlet, Vice President JD Vance dialled PM Modi "at noon Eastern time on Friday" to urge him to talk to Pakistan "to consider options available for de-escalation".
The aforementioned report suggests that Vance first apprised Trump about the intelligence and then called PM Modi, saying "a high probability of a dramatic escalation" was in the offing if hostilities continued over the weekend.

The media outlet said that Vance also told Modi about a possible solution that the US believed Pakistan would agree to. The details about this possible solution were not shared.
The top officials of Trump’s administration, cited by CNN, said Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is also interim NSA, and White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, were closely monitoring the escalating situation between India and Pakistan.
India and Pakistan on Saturday agreed to a ceasefire following a week of intense military engagement. US President Donald Trump announced on his social media platform that a consensus had been reached, highlighting the key role the United States in the agreement.
“After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congratulations to both Countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence," Trump posted on his Truth Social platform.
