The Air Marshall withheld the information on the number of the planes downed by India, saying, "We would not like to hazard a guess out here. I have the numbers. And we are getting to the technical details to establish it. I would not like to put a figure at this time, but definitely, there are losses on their side which we have inflicted."
India and Pakistan have been witnessing heightened tensions at the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border (IB) for over a week. The two sides have been engaged in military aggression since India carried out 'Operation Sindoor' against terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). Operation Sindoor, which was jointly conducted by the armed forces between 1.05 AM and 1.30 AM on May 7, came in response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack where 26 innocent people were gunned down by terrorists in Baisaran Valley of Jammu and Kashmir.
Highlighting the success of the military operation, Air Marshal AK Bharti said, "Have we achieved our objectives of decimating the terrorist camps, and the answer is a thumping Yes and the results are for the whole world to see."

Air Marshall Bharti however refrained from answering to whether India lost a Rafale jet. "We are in a combat scenario. Losses are a part of combat. At this time, I would not like to comment on that. We are still in a combat situation. My comments could advantage adversary. All I want to say is that we achieved our objective. All our pilots at home," he said.
The top officers of the armed forces said India lost its five bravehearts during these military operations. “I pay my solemn homage to my five colleagues and brothers from the armed forces, and civilians who have tragically lost their lives in operations in world. Our hearts go out to the bereaved families… and we express our solidarity to them in this lifetime and beyond. At this grave juncture in their lives, their sacrifices shall always be remembered and spoken of in glowing terms by a grateful nation,” said DGMO Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai.
The armed forces said that the Pakistan Army lost over 35 personnel in artillery and small arms firing on the Line of Control between May 7 and May 10.
India-Pakistan Tensions Continue
India and Pakistan reached a ceasefire agreement on Saturday afternoon after days of intense military exchange and drone attacks. However, the hopes for peace were shattered by the night as Pakistan once again launched a drone strike in the border states of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat. The MEA, in its briefing, said Pakistan violated the bilateral agreement on stopping all forms of firing and aggression on land, air and sea. The Indian air defence successfully intercepted and neutralised the drones for third day in a row.
