Indian Railway Tatkal Ticket Booking Rules:  Social media platforms have recently been buzzing about changes to the timings for booking Tatkal and Premium Tatkal tickets. Indian Railways has formally stated that no such modifications to the ticketing schedule have been suggested or put into effect.

This statement follows a number of misleading posts that have been making the rounds online, claiming that the Tatkal and Premium Tatkal ticket booking hours had changed. Passengers have been warned by the railway authority not to trust these rumours.

Indian Railways has advised travelers to stay away from deceptive social media posts and to only trust official sources for information about ticketing regulations. The times for booking Tatkal and Premium Tatkal tickets have not changed.

Tatkal tickets can be booked at the train's originating station one day prior to the journey date, except the day of travel, in accordance with Indian Railways' existing regulations.

Tatkal Ticket Booking Timings

- Tatkal Tickets for AC Class (2A/3A/CC/EC/3E)

- Opens at 10:00 AM the day before the trip.

- Tatkal Ticket Booking for Non-AC Classes (SL/FC/2S)

- Opens at 11:00 AM on the preceding day of travel.

Tatkal e-tickets may be booked by travelers using the official IRCTC website or app. Depending on availability, the Tatkal quota may grant both confirmed and waitlisted tickets.
