India's Got Latent Row:  The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has summoned comedian and YouTuber Samay Raina for the third time to appear before it on March 24 for questioning regarding India's Got Latent controversy, according to news agency ANI.

Earlier, he was summoned to record his statement on March 19, however, he did not appear before the Maharastra Cyber Cell.

Samay Raina, who is presently abroad, first asked for permission to deliver his statement by video conference, pointing to previous commitments in Canada and the United States. However, this request was denied by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell, which insisted on a face-to-face meeting.

Last month, the Maharashtra Cyber Cell called YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, commonly known as BeerBiceps, to appear before it on February 24. Comedian Samay Raina has also been ordered to appear before the cyber cell on February 18.

Samay Raina's Delhi Show Cancelled

Samay Raina’s upcoming shows, 'Unfiltered', scheduled for March 21 and 23 at Talkatora Stadium in Delhi, have been cancelled. The ticketing platform BookMyShow, where both shows were marked as sold out, informed attendees about the cancellation just days before the performances.

BookMyShow sent notifications to ticket holders on Saturday, confirming the cancellation and assuring them of refunds.

What Was The Controversy About?

Comedian Samay Raina's co-host Ranveer Allahbadia asked a contestant an improper question on his "India's Got Latent" episode, that caused a stir and prompted judicial investigation. Allahbadia had asked a contestant: "Would you rather watch your parents have sex or join in once and stop it forever?"

Samay Raina responded to the backlash on Instagram, stating, “Everything that has been happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India's Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly.”

Charges of inciting obscenity have been brought against Raina, Allahbadia, and other show members in a number of First Information Reports (FIRs).
