Chandigarh To Lucknow Flight: An IndiGo flight from Chandigarh to Lucknow was cancelled on Sunday after the pilot detected a technical issue during pre-flight checks. The problem was identified before the aircraft began taxiing and as a safety measure, all passengers were safely deboarded.
According to sources cited by ANI on Sunday, IndiGo Flight 6E 146 did not proceed with takeoff after the issue was found. Passengers affected by the cancellation were either accommodated on alternate flights or offered a full refund.
The airline prioritised passenger safety and decided not to move the aircraft from the bay until the matter was resolved. No injuries or disruptions inside the terminal were reported.
This incident comes amid a series of flight disruptions across the country in recent days. The aviation sector has been under scrutiny, particularly after a major Air India crash in Ahmedabad that raised safety concerns. Airlines have been more cautious, with frequent flight cancellations or rescheduling due to technical or weather-related issues.
On Saturday, an Air India Express flight from Delhi to Patna was diverted to Varanasi due to adverse weather conditions. The aircraft later reached Patna safely.
In a separate incident on Friday, an IndiGo flight from Guwahati to Chennai, carrying 168 passengers, made an emergency landing in Bengaluru. The captain declared a 'Mayday' due to low fuel after a failed landing attempt in Chennai. A steep climb was initiated after the landing gear briefly touched the runway. The aircraft was diverted around 35 miles from Bengaluru, where it landed safely.
