IndiGo Flight Engine Fire: A Diu-bound IndiGo flight from Ahmedabad aborted takeoff after one of the two engines caught fire on Wednesday. The vigil pilot's quick after noticing a flame in the engine, evaded a fatal incident. This was the second such incident within hours in which a plane had to abort the flight due to an issue.
In the second incident, a Doha-bound Air India Express flight returned to Calicut International Airport on Wednesday, two hours after take-off due to a technical snag. “Flight IX 375, which had 188 passengers, including the pilots and crew, took off from Calicut at around 9.07 AM but returned to the same airport two hours later at 11.12 AM,” an airport official told PTI.
All Passengers And Crew Members On Board The Indigo Aircraft Are Safe: Officials
The authorities said all passengers and crew members on board the Indigo aircraft are safe as they have been evacuated soon after the landing of the flight. The official said the flight from Ahmedabad to Diu was supposed to depart at around 11.15 am from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport as per its schedule. The IndiGo flight to Diu was cancelled due to the technical issues.
Sources in the airline said the pilots took the decision to abort the take-off due to technical reasons.
"When the aircraft began its take-off roll, the pilots took a decision to abort the take-off due to some technical reasons. The flight has been cancelled. All the 50-odd passengers and crew members are safe," said a source.

Indore-Bound Indigo Flight Suffers Technical Snag
Earlier on July 21, an IndiGo flight 6E 813 operating from Goa International Airport (Dabolim) to Indore reported a technical snag just before landing.
"The aircraft landed safely in Indore, and will undergo necessary checks, as per mandatory procedures, before resuming operations. We are making all efforts to minimize its impact on any subsequent flights and regret any inconvenience that may be caused to our customers," said the IndiGo Spokesperson.
