Indore Building Collapse: Two persons, including a woman, died and 12 got injured after a three-storey house collapsed in Indore's Ranipura area on Monday night following rains. The authorities rescued 11 people from the debris and admitted to a government hospital.
According to police, around 9 pm, the three-storey building, including a basement, suddenly caved in, prompting authorities, with the help of locals to launch a relief operation. Soon after the collapse it was reported that 13 individuals were trapped under the debris. Eyewitnesses reported that, as a precautionary measure, electricity has been cut off in the Ranipura area for relief and rescue operations, and police are trying to clear the crowd of onlookers from the scene.

What Do Police Say?
Indore CP Santosh Kumar Singh said, "Shops were housed in (basement) the building, and above it appears to be a residential area. Approximately 40-45% of the building has collapsed. Some people are buried under the debris, of which 10 have been shifted to the hospital. There's a possibility that more people may be buried. Search operation is ongoing."
Four Persons Critically Injured
Four of the injured are in critical condition, while the condition of seven others is stable, Arvind Ghanghoria, dean of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, said. Alifa (20), who was trapped under the debris of the collapsed building, was brought to the Maharaja Yeshwant Rao Hospital, where doctors declared her dead, he added.
Meanwhile, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava said that preliminary information suggests the building was 8 to 10 years old. The mayor added that a portion of the building fell on a neighbouring building, too.
