MP News: A political controversy erupted in Madhya Pradesh after Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava's son Sanghamitra, while standing as opposition in a debate, listed the shortcomings of the NDA government. Sanghamitra, in front of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and other leaders, pointed out that several promises have not been fulfilled by the government. A video of the debate competition went viral on several social media platforms, drawing reactions from politicians of several parties.

While the Congress leaders pointed out that even the people linked with BJP are aware of the alleged poor performance of the government, the saffron party leaders emphasised that the opposition should not highlight this issue as the mayor's son had a specific role in the debate.

While speaking at the event in Indore's Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya auditorium, Sanghamitra stated that the NDA government could not deliver on many fronts. While providing details, the mayor's son pointed out that thousands of people have lost their lives in train accidents in the last ten years. He further stated that while the government promised to upgrade 400 railway stations, only 20 stations witnessed upgradation.

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, while sharing the video on X, stated that Sanghamitra is an "impressive speaker". However, the BJP leaders stated that the opposition should not politicise the event as the participant was doing his job by speaking against the motion. CM Mohan Yadav stated that the mayor's son spoke like the opposition because he was assigned the role.

"In debate competitions, one has to speak the role assigned. He got the role of opposition, so he spoke like the opposition," CM Yadav stated. "Don't take it personally, or else the saying will fit a straw in the thief's beard," he added.
