Indore Metro Update: In a major update for the residents, the operation on the Yellow Line of the Indore Metro is all set to begin on June 21. As per the reports, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Union Minister Manohar Lal will inaugurate the corridor between Super Corridor-2 and Radisson Square. The officials stated that meetings are currently underway to finalise fares, trips, and schedules, adding that an announcement is likely in the next three to four days.
As per the reports, the new corridor is set to become the Indore Metro's busiest stretch as of now. The Yellow Line is likely to provide relief to the commuters by cutting the travel time and reducing traffic congestion. The reports suggest that at least 4 lakh residents will directly get benefit once the public operation begins. The officials asserted that up to 8 lakh people could benefit if feeder buses and other public transport were also included.

The reports suggest that 25 to 40 thousand passengers will travel on this route daily in the initial phase; however, the ridership can significantly increase in the upcoming months. As per the reports, the elevated corridor will connect major residential and commercial areas like Gandhi Nagar, Luvkush, Sukhliya, Vijay Nagar, Scheme-78 and Radisson Square.
Apart from this, the route will also benefit thousands of IT professionals on a daily basis as it will link campuses of major IT companies like TCS, Infosys, Yash Technologies, and other IT parks. The corridor will also connect educational institutions to markets and the airport, providing convenience to thousands of working professionals and students.
The fares for the Indore and Bhopal Metro are higher than those for the Delhi and Lucknow Metro. For a 15-station journey on the Indore Metro, passengers will have to pay Rs 80, a report revealed.
