Indore won the title of cleanest city in India for the eighth consecutive year in the government’s annual cleanliness survey. The results of the Swachh Survekshan Survey 2024-25 were announced on Thursday, in which Indore retained its cleanest city of India title for the eighth consecutive year in a row, news agency ANI reported. Indore was followed by Surat and Navi Mumbai in the second and third place, respectively.

According to the survey results, Indore stood in the first position, followed by Surat, Navi Mumbai, GVMC Vishakapatam, Vijayawada, Bhopal, Tirupati, Mysore, New Delhi (NDMC) and Ambikapur.

Noida emerged as the cleanest city among those with 3-10 lakh of population, followed by Chandigarh and Mysore. President Droupadi Murmu gave away awards to the winners of the Swachh Survekshan Awards 2024-25 at an event held in New Delhi. Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal and others attended the event.

Cleanliness Drive Conducted On July 10 In Lucknow

Earlier, on July 10, a cleanliness drive was conducted across Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh to mark the occasion of the 74th birthday of Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Under the supervision of Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharwal, a cleanliness drive was conducted in which locals and several sanitation workers participated.

“Today is the birthday of Lucknow’s popular parliamentarian and the country’s defence minister. Today, Lucknow is participating in a mega cleanliness campaign. This is a gift from the people of Lucknow to him,” the Lucknow Mayor told ANI.

Talking about the cleanliness drive, Mankameshwar Ward Councillor Ranjit Singh said, “On the call of the Mayor, the Councillors of the entire Municipal Corporation of Lucknow have started a cleanliness drive in their areas today.”
