A month after the sudden resignation announcement, former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankharhas vacated the Vice President's Enclave, the official residence of the Vice President, on Monday evening.
Since his resignation, he has kept away from the public eye, prompting concerns about his whereabouts. Earlier in the day, he stepped out of the official residence and went to the Army’s Research and Referral Hospital in Dhaula Kuan to see a dentist, according to a report by The Indian Express.
He shifted to a farmhouse of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) chief Abhay Singh Chautala in South Delhi’s Chattarpur Enclave.
The Indian Express quoted a source, saying, "For the past month, he has been walking (inside the V-P’s official residence) and meeting his relatives and old friends at his residence. Today he came out to visit a doctor".
"He has conveyed to security agencies that he will shift to a private accommodation in Gadaipur DLF farms, Chattarpur Enclave, around 5 pm. Many of the belongings have already been shifted, while several household items have been moved to a flat inside the V-P’s official residence," the report quoted the source.
Chautala confirmed that the development, saying that the former VP and he have old family relations, and it was he who offered Dhankhar the farmhouse. Earlier in August, news agency PTI reported that Dhankhar was keeping himself busy playing table tennis and practising yoga.
Dhankhar resigned as the VP on July 21, citing health issues. The Election Commission later announced to hold the elections for the office of the VP on September.
