A viral video clip from Rajasthan's Jaipur has grabbed attention, where a woman was captured being harassed by two men in the street. According to the clip, one of the men was shown touching the women inappropriately, while she was riding a two-wheeler in the street.

The video soon gained multiple views, with users raising concerns about women's safety in public spaces. The incident seemed to have taken place on a busy road, making the act even more alarming.

Seeing the viral footage, Rajasthan Police immediately initiated action. In a statement shared on social media, the police cautioned against breaking the law in the pursuit of online popularity. “Don't forget the real law in the craze for reels,” the police said, adding that its social media team actively monitors such content round the clock.

Officials said that the accused individuals have been identified with the help of technology and informants, and efforts are underway to arrest them.

Emphasising the incident, the Rajasthan police also urged citizens to not put their lives in danger just to create social media content.

They asserted that law enforcement agencies are not only reactive but also increasingly proactive in preventing crimes.

The incident has once again highlighted the importance of vigilance, stricter enforcement, and public awareness to ensure safer roads for all.

NCIB Reacts

The National Crime Investigation Bureau (NCIB) became aware of the situation and demanded immediate action after the video went viral on social media. The organization emphasized the need to bolster public confidence, especially among women, and asked Jaipur Police to find and detain the implicated.

The NCIB called the occurrence "extremely alarming" and "unacceptable" in its letter, pointing out that such actions erode people's sense of security in public areas. In response, Jaipur Police said that the relevant officer had received the information and would take the appropriate measures.

The viral video has provoked hard-hitting reactions across social media platforms, with some expressing anger, fear, and frustration. Many users criticised passersby for not stepping in to help the woman, despite the incident unfolding in a crowded setting.

While others called for strict and exemplary punishment for the accused, arguing that such actions are necessary to stop similar crimes. Others voiced concern over what they perceive as a rise in crimes against women, even during daylight hours.

Congress Lashes Out

Reacting to the incident, Rajasthan Congress’s official X handle reshared the post and wrote, "These shameful pictures are from Rajasthan... where sisters and daughters are being openly harassed on the streets, and thugs are beating up ordinary people.

Because in the BJP, the fear of the law has completely vanished. In the BJP's misrule, criminals are emboldened, and the government is just a helpless spectator."

The party highlighted another video, wherein a group of men was purportedly seen attacking a young person in public. It raised more questions about safety and an increase in crime.
