'Put Terrorism On Global Agenda Under PM Modi's Leadership': Jaishankar Highlights India’s Anti-Terror Approach

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday said that in the last decade Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and diplomacy have put terrorism on the global agenda. Jaishankar made the remarks while addressing the Rajya Sabha on Pahalgam terror attack and India’s counter-terror initiatives under ‘Operation Sindoor’.

"In the last decade, we have been able to put terrorism on the global agenda... Whether it is BRICS, SCO, QUAD or at the bilateral level,” EAM Jaishankar said in his address.

“We have exerted pressure on Pakistan through various means, including trade and diplomacy. For the first time, a United Nations report has explicitly named The Resistance Front (TRF), a Pakistan-based proxy terror outfit,” Jaishankar said, focussing on diplomatic wins during Operation Sindoor.

Bringing up the extradition of the Mumbai terror attacks accused Tahawwur Rana, Jaishankar said, "Tahawwur Rana, who was wanted for 26 years, finally has been brought back by the Modi government and is today facing trials in this country..."

The debate on Operation Sindoor began in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, while the Lok Sabha took up the discussion on Monday. The operation was launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 civilians were killed.
